Do Piotra Pawlickiego i Keynana Rew dołącza Ben Cook. Najskuteczniejszy obecnie zawodnik drużyny przedłużył umowę z FOGO Unią Leszno i będzie bronić biało-niebieskich barw do końca sezonu 2028.
Po 11. kolejkach Cook może pochwalić się dziewiątą średnią biegową w rozgrywkach. Szczególnie skuteczny jest na Stadionie im. Alfreda Smoczyka, gdzie zdobywa 2,28 punktu na wyścig.
Cook trafił do Leszna w sezonie 2024, wspierając drużynę w walce o utrzymanie w PGE Ekstralidze, a po spadku pozostał w Lesznie i wywalczył z drużyną powrót do elity. W tym roku 28-latek urósł do miana prawdziwego lidera drużyny i jest obecnie jednym z najlepszych zawodników w PGE Ekstralidze.
Na mocy nowego kontraktu Cook zostaje w Lesznie na sezony 2027 i 2028. Ben to trzeci zawodnik, który związał się z FOGO Unią Leszno na kolejne dwa sezony. Wcześniej swoje umowy przedłużyli także Piotr Pawlicki i Keynan Rew.

W niedzielne popołudnie na torze w Rybniku rozegrano test mecz pomiędzy reprezentacjami Polski i Australii. Zwycięsko z tego pojedynku wyszły Kangury i to oni będą mieli przewagę psychologiczną przed zbliżającym się Drużynowymi Pucharem Świata. Gości do zwycięstwa poprowadził zdobywca 11+1 oczek – Brady Kurtz. Wśród reprezentantów Polski najlepiej spisali się Dominik Kubera i Bartosz Zmarzlik, którzy w sześciu biegach zdobyli po 13 punktów.
W Rybniku startował dwóch zawodników FOGO Unii Leszno. Mecz w zdecydowanie lepszym humorze zakończył Ben Cook. Australijczyk wywalczył 9+1 oczek. Bez punktu spotkanie zakończył Piotr Pawlicki. Szczegóły poniżej.
